Aaron Feltman is a magnificent young artist. A member of Huntington High School’s Class of 2016, the teenager has captured a long list of awards and designed last year’s yearbook cover. He recently learned that he’s one of just 26 students in the world to earn every point possible on last spring’s AP Studio Art drawing portfolio exam.

Mr. Feltman is currently a freshman at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts in Philadelphia. It’s a specialized and unique art school that attracts many of the most committed and promising art students across the United States and the world to study painting, drawing, printmaking, sculpture and illustration with a distinguished faculty of working artists.

“The school holds a position of national prestige, with cutting-edge studio and classroom facilities, private studios for students, an historic cast collection and the opportunity for students to exhibit in a world class museum,” said Kristin Singer, a Huntington High School art teacher who has worked closely with Mr. Feltman.

The Huntington alum recently received a letter from the College Board, which administers Advanced Placement exams, stating his work “was so superior that it falls into a very select category.”

AP exams are scored on a scale of 1 to 5, with a 5 being the equivalent to a grade of an A in a corresponding college course. “You not only received the top score of 5, but were one of only 26 students in the world (amounting to just 0.1 percent of all AP Studio Art: Drawing Portfolio Exam takers) to earn every point possible on this difficult assessment. We applaud your hard work, diligence and enthusiasm.”

Mr. Feltman excelled in Huntington High School’s art classes. “Aaron has been more than the ideal student,” Mrs. Singer said. “He is a wildly motivated, exceedingly talented artist and the most dedicated and humble student. I cannot imagine ever having another student with such passion and commitment to his craft.”
