HHS PTSA Selling Personalized Plaza Bricks

An engraved brick is a great way to remember a Huntington High School graduate.

September 13, 2016

Equal parts fundraiser and outdoor beautification project, the Huntington High School PTSA is selling engraved bricks, which will be laid within the plaza near the school’s main entrance.

Organizers of the initiative are reaching out to current students and their families, alumni and the local business community. Many bricks have been purchased as a memorial to departed graduates. The initiative initially debuted in 2008 with periodic installations of new bricks.

Different size bricks are available. A 4” x 8” brick can be purchased for $100. It offers space for three lines of 14 characters each for engraving. An 8” x 8” brick is available for $150. It provides space for six lines of 14 characters each.

The bricks are being offered to all alumni, parents, grandparents and anyone else interested in commemorating a loved one’s time at Huntington High School. Many families like to purchase one for a graduating senior.

Dozens of new bricks have been added since the original installation and dozens more are expected to be laid during the current school year. Proceeds are earmarked for the PTSA’s scholarship fund. The organization awards three $500 scholarships annually.

The bricks will be professionally inscribed and laid. The plaza area where bricks has been installed for the past eight years is visually attractive and attracts plenty of attention by those strolling near it.

Order forms can be found on the Huntington School District’s website (www.joshuacarnes.info) by going to the Menu dropdown menu on the top left of the homepage.
