Several dozen enthusiastic teenagers are playing roles in this year’s student council organization at Huntington High School.
The building-wide student government is headed by senior Lindsay Saginaw and a slate of energetic executive board members. Each of the four classes in the school have also elected leaders for their respective grade level. Faculty advisors are in place to work with the teenagers. The teachers strive to let students take the lead as much as possible.
The student council assists Principal Brenden Cusack and Assistant Principals Joseph DiTroia and Gamal Smith in the management of the school and provides a forum for the teenagers in the building to express their voice.
“Our student government this year is comprised of powerhouse student leaders who are organized, engaged and energetic,” Mr. Cusack said. “Thus far they have done an excellent job with both homecoming and Safe Halloween under the guidance of Mr. Bisogno and Mr. Troffa. The officers of student government serve as excellent role models for our student body.”
