Western Suffolk BOCES will host its 19th annual legislative roundtable on Friday, January 20 at 9 a.m. The event will include superintendents, board of education members and PTA officials for each of the 18 component districts.
Superintendent James W. Polansky will be representing the Huntington School District along with school board and PTA officials. The event will be held at the Western Suffolk BOCES conference center in Wheatley Heights.
New York State Senate Education Committee Chairman Carl Marcellino has been invited to attend the roundtable. Western Suffolk BOCES Chief Operating Officer Michal Flynn said the “opportunity for all of us to have a meaningful and informative exchange about the next New York State budget as it relates to school funding is critical to the continued educational progress of our region.”

• The foundation aid formula
• State funding for English language learners
• The state teacher/principal annual professional performance review system
• BOCES aid for career and technical education
