Seven exceptionally talented Huntington High School musicians has been selected to perform at the New York State Council of Administrators of Music Education’s All-County Music Festival this fall.
“These talented students were chosen based upon their New York State School Music Association solo evaluation scores and teacher recommendations,” said Eric Reynolds, Huntington’s district director of fine and performing arts. “In order to be eligible, students must perform an instrumental or vocal solo of the highest level of musicality at the annual NYSSMA solo festival and be a junior or senior enrolled in a school music ensemble.”
The Huntington students who have been tapped to perform include:
Christopher Engle: Baritone/Euphonium
Christiana DeLuca: Mallet Percussion
Lola Kindall: Alto 1
Christopher Chang: Violin 1
Arielle Harvey: Violin 2
Ben Connor: B-flat Clarinet 2
Katie Riley: French Horn 4
“Student and staff musicians in Huntington continue to perform and achieve at the highest of levels,” Superintendent James W. Polansky said. “It comes as no surprise that students from multiple high school ensembles have, once again, earned All-County honors. Congratulations to all!”
The festival will be held on Friday, November 17 at 7:30 p.m. at Hauppauge High School.
“The achievement of our students represents mastery in their musical studies and a true pursuit of excellence,” Mr. Reynolds said. The fine and performing arts department is proud to have these students represent our school and community.”
